Hello! I’m Matty, and I own and run Go 2 Virtual Assistants. All Virtual Assistants will tell you what makes them unique, better than the rest, and the VA you should pick, but what if you could have a Virtual Assistant that felt more like a personal assistant? This all starts with the word PERSONAL. To work well with every company and individual I’ve learnt that the key is to know what makes your company and my customers unique, and emphasise these strengths through my work. On that note I feel the best approach is to also tell you, the customer, what makes me “me”. Having a strong bond from the start and knowing that your enterprise is aided by someone you know and can trust makes for an easier, more expeditious, and more profitable experience.
Having been a Personal Assistant to director and business since 2011, I decided to set up Go 2 Virtual Assistants with 15 years total of business experience, to help more people with my extensive business and administration knowledge. I was previously the personal assistant to the Director of GoSkydive; a company that I watched grow over 8 years from a small company of 5 people to the UK’s leading company in its sector. I thoroughly enjoyed this role and successfully helped as part of the team to turn the Director’s vision into reality and build a legacy. I now feel that I can replicate this for other people, to build legacies for more companies, whilst also building my own legacy in the form of Go 2 Virtual Assistants.
The primary objective of starting my business is to save clients time and money. Diversification of tasks and challenges excite me - I relish the opportunity to assist in the success of a company. I know that outsourcing offers greater flexibility, plus the opportunity to provide support via a network of trusted associates that handle specialist work like social media management, marketing and design. These are all key components to a business’s success, but do require a lot of time and planning, something not all business owners have a lot of. That’s where I come in!
However, enough about Go 2 Virtual Assistants… I want to share with you some more personal details in order for you to get to know me better.
First and foremost, my family is very important to me. I have been married to my husband for 25 years and I am very fortunate in my ability to say that my husband is my biggest supporter and number one fan. We have two beautiful daughters, of which we are very proud. My friends and family are a small and tight knit group that thrives on humour, love and support, of which I am thankful for every day.
Being South African myself, and my husband being Greek, we have lived in South Africa, Cyprus and are currently living in the UK. To have been able to live in these places has been a real privilege and diversified my business experience.
After finishing school, I went to University to study Art and subsequently found my passion in jewellery design. I then became a qualified jewellery designer and manufacturer. During my time living in Cyprus I opened Matty’s Gem Art Jewellery. A small jewellery shop in the touristy area of Larnaca.
Jewellery design requires a love of detail and organisation, when I moved to the UK and no longer had my jewellery shop, I realised I would have to find something new to be passionate about. My love of detail and organisation led me to administration and bookkeeping and through that I founded Go 2 Virtual Assistants.
I am definitely an outdoorsy person and I consider myself relatively sporty. I ran the London marathon, raising money for Young Epilepsy, and also ran the Disney marathon in Orlando with friends. I love to ski and any water sports are my cup of tea.
With all this action, I use yoga to return me to sanity. I love yoga and really believe in its benefits. I would recommend it to everyone as it has taught me to accept life as it is and not wish to change everything, bringing a real sense of calm into my life. This was a turning point for me and I will continue to practice yoga for the rest of my life.
Gratitude is my life word. Gratitude makes sense of your past, bring peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.
